The Pacific Province capital area features many nearby farms, markets, and cideries worth visiting. Victoria visitors can check out nearby agritourist sites like Babe’s Honey Farm, Phil’s Farm, and Vantreight Farms for fresh flowers in nearby Saanichton.
If you’re traveling with children, head to Dan’s Farm & Country Market for a petting zoo, scenic picnic sites, and famed cinnamon buns from the onsite bakery. Set in North Saanich, Ruby Red Farms features certified organic blueberries, while Merridale Ciderworks in Cobble Hill offers their popular “Cider, Spirits and Lunch Tours.”
North of Victoria, the Duncan area features more agricultural spots along the Trans Canada Highway. Set in the Cowichan Valley, Stonefield Farm welcomes visitors from April through November in Mill Bay.
Also found in the area, Providence Farm is a therapeutic, organic ranch offering rehabilitation programs and horticultural therapy for any physical, mental and emotionally challenged guests.
Further along the Trans Canada Highway, the Nanaimo area offers more agricultural highlights. Visit Yellow Point Cranberries in Lady Smith along the way, and take advantage of the Cranberries Signature Taste Tour.
Further north in Parksville, Morningstar Farm features seasonal group tours of this classic farmstead, plus self-guided excursions. Open daily throughout the year, Morningstar Farm features a petting zoo, live music events, and tastings at the onsite Little Qualicum Cheeseworks and MooBerry Winery.
