Vancouver Area Golfing Choices
Sink a Putt at Mayfair Lakes Golf Course
Whether you’re looking for an escape from the stresses of life, or hosting a few clients on a business trip, Vancouver has the sterling choices.
Plan to shoot 18 at the popular University Golf Club, only minutes from downtown Vancouver, and neatly set just inland from the English Bay.
A short drive from Richmond, the University Golf Club has been host to the Public Links Championship, and was home to the West Point Golf Club. The University Golf Club has a tradition of being completely open to the public, branding themselves as “non-members only.”
After your round, check out the BC Golf Museum, near downtown.
If you prefer to stay in Richmond, south of Vancouver, be sure to swing by the Mayfair Lakes Golf Course, or the Greenacres Golf Course. A standard 18 holes and a par 71, the Mayfair Lakes was built in 1989 and is open to the public year-round. Greenacres Golf Course is an easy drive from Burnaby, and features 18 pristine, tree-lined holes.
Continue your exploration of Vancouver golf and sneak in 18 at the McLeery Golf Course, or the Fraserview Golf Course. Drive in from North Vancouver or Coquitlam and experience any one of Fraserview’s 36 driving range stalls – never hurts to hit a bucket of balls before you tee off.
In Surrey, you’ll find two spectacular courses, perfect for beginners or semi-pros, and an quick drive in from Langley. The Coyote Creek Golf Course offers tee times to non-members. A smaller course, the Nico-Wynd Golf Club is a nine-hole, non-traditional course, where you play nine holes twice for your full 18.
Head east to Chilliwack where you’ll tee off at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club. The Chilliwack Golf Club is semi-private, offering public play throughout the year. Playing 18 holes at Chilliwack Golf Club is must-do for those visiting Abbotsford or Mission.
